I have always enjoyed science; however, I like helping people learn even more. It brings me great satisfaction to help students understand the physical world around them. My teaching style starts with short lessons, which are then reinforced with "hands-on" activities. I was a research scientist for eighteen years, and taught high school- and college-level science courses for seventeen years. I have experience teaching environmental science, physics, and chemistry, including dual enrollment, honors, AP, and CP levels. I have taught IB physics (SL and HL) as well as IB chemistry. I was a tutor in the subjects of calculus, precalculus, geometry, and algebra 1 & 2. Chemistry is, by far, my favorite subject to teach. I obtained a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Chemistry from SUNY Oswego. I also studied chemistry at Rutgers University Graduate School, where I earned a Ph.D.I tutor mainly math (precalculus, calculus 1 and 2, statistics, biostatistics, and algebra) and science (environmental science, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, IB chemistry HL, IB chemistry SL, IB environmental systems and societies SL, physics, astronomy, biochemistry, and more), and some test prep subjects (MCAT, GRE, PCAT, and SAT). In addition to teaching, I like the outdoors, cross-country skiing, golf, biking, and hiking.
